Marcial Waters Resort

One of the traditional sights for tourists is the first Russian resort the Marcial Waters, founded by Peter the Great. There are 4 springs in the resort. A small museum is situated near the springs of marcial water in the house of the Committee of Mines (1830).

There is a memorial pavilion above the spring, from which Alexander II took water in 1858. Another pavilion was built at the ore field.

The first Russian resort "Marcial waters" and the sanatorium bearing the same name are located 50 km from Petrozavodsk , the capital of Karelia . The first Russian resort the Marcial Waters was opened in 1719 by the order of Peter the Great. In 1714, Ivan Ryaboyev, a factory worker, who "suffered from a heart ailment and could barely drag his feet," fully cured himself after taking the water for three days ("he has been drinking the water for three days and got cured.").
